Black! Makes colors pop! And blue background with corraline is gross looking in my opinion!

I have a blue on mine but my canopy and stand are a lighter pine. But if I were to do it again I would go black with a darker canopy and stand IMO.

Another one for black. Just painted my 210 black I will never paint a tank blue again. The equipment blends in so much better with black.

you can go to any store which sells poster boards and buy a blue and a black one. tape each to the back for your tank for a while and see which one you like best. It will only cost one or two dollars, and it is a good way to make sure you get what you truly want.

Black, have seen all three side by side at a LFS the black looks much better and everything blends so much better. Plus if you are going reef ready you will be hard pressed to find blue for the overflow. Clear??? Only if you plan on having viewable from all sides.

To be contrary I vote for blue , it's less artificial looking.

How about one of those backgrounds you can buy at the pet store that has all of the corals and stuff on it?

You didn't even list that as an option. . .

I once used wrapping paper with mermaids as a back ground, but don't tell anybody. It'll be our little secret .

I think it all depends on the shade of blue. The really bright blues I've seen as backgrounds for some tanks are a bit gaudy-looking for my tastes - but to each his own!

I have a black background and I really like the way it looks, especially with the coralline starting to grow on the glass. And it does make my black loc-line fixtures seem less obvious.

I've wondered what sky blue might look like, though. Anyone ever try it?

I was thinking black, but heres what i was considering, i have an aga with mega flow, i was thinking let coralline totally cover the overflow, and have the back glass blue, and keep coralline off of it, so it would make the overflow less obvious, just a thought...
