Mono argenteus

Has anyone ever kept Mono argenteus in full saltwater successfully?

I've never kept them in salt water, but I've seen them in full salt water in harbours in Australia. I know also that in most of their range they are more likely to be in salt then in fresh. They are just not as colorful as most other salt water fish that they are not that popular as pets.

Thanks for the imput philter. I know they are not that colorful, but they are odd balls and I like odd balls. I was hoping to keep them with barnacle blennies and pink skunk clowns. Do you folks think this will work?

There is a huge marine aquarium with about 20 of them around here but they are really big. I wouldnt recommend one unless you have a very big aquarium.

Our LFS had a tank with about 3 in full salt water. They went to a large public display aquarium.

Thanks for the imput Ozadars and Ssavader. The tank I am considering is a 100 gallon. That is medium size these days, but I think a trio might look nice.

Monos

I haven't kept any but have considered it. I have read that Mono's do best in medium sized groups say five or more. I have a 100 gallon too and that is the main reason I haven't tried them.
