Finnex System FI-MTG-2402Q?

Has anyone had any experience with this system from Finnex? It certainly looks promising. They are offered at Premium Aquatics now with free shipping and I am considering getting one. I have had a lot of experience over many years with highly complex reef setups, but have been out of the hobby for a couple years. Would like to get back in with a simple nano setup that is more or less complete. this looks promising.

other options are the CadLight system, or red sea max.

Recommendations appreciated.

thanks,
Chris

I have a Biocube 29 and If i had nown about Finex before I would have bought this set up, it has all the tweeks Im doing to the bio cube, would of saved time and about $200 bucks. I may buy another small tank and if I do it will be the Finnex 30

Thanks...

I have built my own systems, small and very large over the past 20 years in this hobby. The idea of a self contained unit is intriguing to me, and I want to play with this concept. I am looking for the 'best' model, and am torn between the Finnex 30 and the CadLight 39.

Of course the Cadlight looks like it has a wait time, so maybe that helps me with my decision....

I like the idea of being able to control the flow through the refugium and also that the refugium dumps into the main water body....thus avoiding death of any micro organisms...flowing into the main system.

i have a 22G cadlights tank and i would still choose the Cad tanks over the other ones. the new equipment on the CAD is alot better than the finnex ones. the glass is thicker, the lighting is better, skimmer (100G) and the overall seamless look is gorgeous.

i just have a few more questions i am asking CAD about before i pre-order it this weekend.

Jewtball,

Is the CadLight glass or plexiglass? I have always been curious about the rounded corners and wondered if it was actually glass?

Thanks,
Chris

the tanks are all glass and the new one is a much thicker 8mm. the solana looks like either 4mm or th most 5mm. so far the CAD tanks have the thickest glass that i know of.

Okay one more question.

I just went to the LFS and saw a Red Sea system. Are they on par with the Finnex and/or Cadlight?

Thanks,
Chris

What about cooling. Would a JBJ 1/20 work with these tanks. i know it it only rated at 25gal, but I was curious how affective they are and if they would keep one of these systems cooled appropriately
