ER skimmer making bubbles in tank???
For some unknown reason, anytime I turn on the ER, I'm getting micro-bubbles in the tank.
1) Any ideas what is causing it? 2) Do bubbles in the tank hurt the fish or corals (mainly SPS)? This started only after I cleaned out the collection cup. It had been running fine for months up until tonight. Stephen |

You haven't cleaned the collection cup for months? Are your baffles doing their job in the sump?

No, I clean the collection cup every couple of days.

You might want to try and put a 100 Micron Filter Sock on the return end of the Sump. that will give the bubbles somewhere to dissapate.

Make sure nothing is blocking the air intake. occasionally I will get salt creep build up in the air intake valve and i need to clear it out. If its blocked too much the microbubbles end up moving too far down in the skimmer chamber and they make their way into return pipe and into the sump.
