Worlds Best Skimmer (with pictures to prove it)

Well I just recently acquired a Brandon Skim-Master2000 a little over 2 months ago. I ordered it Almost a year ago and it took over 9 month to get here. Well worth the wait though, this one is equipped with needle wheel tongue. Only thing is, it's not very efficient. it consumes about 6 pampers a day and at least 5 bottles of milk.

Here it is right after installation. (still not broken in)

And 10 seconds later already producing good skimmate.

OMG thats funny.
Congrats on the new skimmer, looks like a nice one that should give years of enjoyable service.
I had one myself 18 years ago, it was so good I got another 3 years after that.

That is a beauty! Congratulations. Take good care of him and he should provide many years of enjoyment. He will start out skimming wet, but will skim dryer once he breaks in after few months.

me and you are new friends...

i also started my diy skimmer about 6 months ago, i had been doing mock ups for a long while for this third one. my other 2 worked really well, but over time they lost thier effectiveness, and now the cost even more to run and maintain. they are too big to in sump, so i have a room that is dedicated to just them... its so cluttered in there with all the accessories needed to run them i can never keep it clean in there.. the good thing is, they are so large i can use them for other stuff i.e. bringing me things i dont want to get up and get, washing dishes, stuff like that.. they are multipurpose skimmers now. but my new skimmer is set to be here on the exact same day yours is..

WAIT...

WE HAD BETTER NOT HAVE ORDERED OUR SKIMMERS FROM THE SAME COMPANY, OR THERE WILL BE HELL TO PAY!!!!!!!

Man, I don't even have to see that thing work to know that the smell from the skimmate must be horrendous! Make sure you have ample ventilation!

Congrats! He's adorable!

Those skimmers are way expensive, make too much noise, and tend to overflow quite often. Yet for some reason, everyone loves them. Congratulations for not buying the Made in China replicas that are going around.

This is a Hang on the front model for now but will eventually need a dedicated fish room

My little skimmer is now 10 months old, and is sitting in my lap while I read this, just did a routine cleaning. I think the needle wheel on mine is wearing out, because the noise it sometimes makes, wakes me up at night (kind of like a whine)??? Has anyone else got that problem?!?!?!?
Oh well I was told mine was a one off and that no replacemant parts where ever made, guess I'll have to deal with it!!!!

Congrats...the fun has begun!

Yeah mine seems to make the same noise, i don't think it's an issue with the needle wheel, these things just suck in too much air, so much I have to burp my skimmer, is that normal?
