This thread has made me laugh my arse off !!!!!

I cant help but die laughing at the HOB filter with its 1 a month filter change that will keep your water crystal clear...... The amount of lotion on those hands must have killed the fish within a few hours, seriously.

And I thought I knew it all.

most people think that the hardest part in maintaining a marine tank is monitoring and getting the salinity right... i still get a lot of comments about that from casual observers of the tank... some "experts" like that also seems to just go on and on about anti-cholrine products... while i think it is important, there is just so much more other things to worry about in a marine tank...

Man that is so depressing.

I can't believe I'll need to completely re-setup my 120!

Shouldn't that woman have her own forum on RC?

I thought this was a joke, afterall she is contradicts herself when she talks about fish inches per gallon. She puts 3 fish worth....just a bit bigger than 5 inches. (Even though yes it should be 1 inche per 5 gallons) This is indeed quite a sad video to watch.

So I could have 12 inches of fish in my nanocube?

I always wanted a couple of blue tangs in there....

Somebody should put that lady into a 5 foot by 5 foot cell and keep her locked up in there until she learns a lesson!

and what i learned by watching.

"fish are the idiot proof pet"

"artificial plants are a little bit easier to care for than live plants"

you can make a 5g aquarium "look like the ocean"

awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wheres the PETA people when you need them? Geezus H. Then they just plunket all the fish in like no big deal no acclimation no load considerations nothing. They should do the follow up show where all the fish are dead, algae has consumed the tank and the water turns to a stinking nightmare. I cant believe this? That probably did more to promote in proper husbandry than anything else I have ever seen in my life. Hey dont bother checking temp or S.G. or nitrites or any of that crap just plunk in 4-5 fish and see if she runs. 5 gal. lol thats a joke.

F**k me! That must be the quickest cycling tank i've ever seen Truly amazing, technology must be leaping forward faster than anyone could have imagined, from setting up my tank using 30+ gallons of lovely filtered RO, maturing it, slowly, carefully, almost hesitantly adding livestock to all you need to kill nemo in a box. Finding nemo? You'll be lucky to find him anywhere in the future if every soon to be fishkeeper saw that and thought it was 'expert' advice!
If it was that simple we'd all be looking at porn on the web instead of being here!!

I understand the 1" of fish per gallon.

Does this mean I can keep a small blue whale?

Unfortunately, the original bit was aired way back in June '03 shortly after the movie came out, so I think we're all a little behind the curve here! In the future, I think it would have been more worthwhile to write sponsors like CBS & Tetra to tell them we don't appreciate this kind of idiotic misinformation being spread. Here we are pretty much preaching to the choir, and I think you don't have to be tang police to know that this is a bunch of bull.

Never underestimate the stupidity of the average American consumer though, I have seen similar pieces from Trading Spaces & other home decor shows that got my blood boiling... mostly about how using differently colored bettas in 1/2 cup glass bowls can accent your living room & bring in more color (and if they die, well, they cost less than cut flowers, so can be easily replaced). This is a new low to be branching out into marine fish.

it's too bad they didn't expand on exactly what the care requirements are for artificial plants.

that would make for a good follow-up show......

i'm also surprised they couldn't locate a farm raised MI to coordinate the escape.

blue whale is not a fish though ... you have to settle for a whale shark instead...

the sad thing is: after that show aired a couple of years ago, I wonder how many people went out and purchased all that stuff, just to have their own "finding nemo display" I will now change my signature to stupid people shouldn't breed!
