They should not be sold or purchased. They strictly eat coral polyps.

Good info about the polyps, but not all people run reef tanks. Is there some reason these should not be sold or purchased for FO or FOWLR tanks?

Since they only eat coral polyps then in a FO tank there wouldn't be a chance for them to eat.

You will never see anyone have long term success with them unless they are in a huge reef tank. Same with ornate butterflies.

As Zemuron stated unless you have an endless supply of coral polyps for it to eat they won't surve. They only eat corals polyps and there are no substitutes out there to keep this fish alive.

There is one online supplier that has these for sale and it makes me mad since they give the false impression that their diet is clams and the difficulty is moderate.

Here's a good breakdown of other Butterflies that don't live in captivity, most because they are obligate coralivores.
