Travis - oops i didn't do that bad!! and i SHOULD have your $$ to you w/in a couple weeks. i have the training money in hand but don't want to cash everything untill closer to the start date just in case somone wants to drop etc.

August 14, 2004 is the date wanna come it is by vermillion and reception at the Winery in Vermillion

i have a parabolic reflector. WHEN i add another MH i will cut the reflectors in about 1/2 and splice them together so they are ONE BIG ONE...this way i won't get 2 different color differences w/ the 2 different bulbs

I'm not worried about the pump $$. Actually, I was hoping maybe you could pay me the equivalent in frags once my tank is cycled and all.

Yeah, I'll come to your wedding.

Good plan with the reflectors.

BTW, I see you are using the XM 20K now. How does it compare to the radium you used to run?

have you looked into a spray paint by Krylon called Fusion? it bonds to plastic the only thing i don't know about is if it is safe for fish check the label.

Travis - hmmm trade in corals...CONSIDER IT DONE!!!! just don't know what you want. i have some in the frag tray already...maybe let me know what you want now so i can make a few cuts or watch for enough growth to take something!! just teasing you on teh wedding man. don't have to come...hell we haven't even met yet LOL

the reflectors should work out great. Gesheilds (from TCMAS, i met him in the cities when i got the tank up there) had a 10k and a 20k and it looked AWESOME...well prolly not blue enough for me...guess i could do another 20k 400w to please MY EYES. the 10K would get me some nice growth and maybe some different coloration though.

i don't mind the XM's. pretty much teh same as the Radiums IMO. i didn't see ANY difference in coral colors by changing.

duastina - umm what do i need Krylon fusion for??

Heck, I figure we'll prolly be good buds by August anyways.

If you could send me some updated pics of your corals I'll decide what I want frags of. Heck why not just post your corals in this thread so everyone can see them.

everything is STILL growing mad. the biatoms are getting better i believe but they are sort of long and stringy on teh substrate at the moment...slowly getting thinner i believe.

my clam is ****ED at something. it has been pretty closed up the last day or 2. not sure why but i NEED to watch the foxface adn make sure he isn't messing w/ it. it was out HUGE a couple days ago....no idea...haven't been around to watch it

i spotted my 1st sign of coraline!!!!! a tiny pinhead sized patch on my loc-line comming out of the overflow!!!! it has begun!!!!!

just waiting to get the algae gone and the tank settinging in more

later

LOL - yeah i try. hey if i ran a 20H w/ ONE 400w MH i couldn't dissapoint eveyone and only do 1x400w on the 58gal :P i NEEDED to have two

i will most likely do something like this when the acclimation is over

11am - actinic 13w PC on
12noon - 20K XM 400w on
3pm - 10K Ushio 400w on
7pm - 10k Ushio 400w OFF
10pm - 20k XM 400w OFF
11pm - actinic 13w PC OFF

so i will run the 20k for 10hrs and the 10k for about 4hrs for sort of "high noon" get some extra growth and color out of the SPS

thanks for the link buddy

i'm usign a 1/10HP Pacific Coast Imports chiller. it is AWESOME, affordible and QUIET!!!

i actually just changed the controller yesterday to the 2degree model. when i bought it there was ONLY a 4degree (2degree C) swing on the controller. They sent me a 2degree controller when they got them in and i JUST switched it out yesterday after 6PLUS months.

now my chiller does this

on at 82 degree
runs for ~7min.
off at 80degree
off for ~10min
on at 82 degree

it cycles like that. seems like on and off a LOT if you ask me!!

does that seem right for a 2degree swing? on and off that much???

later

Well when you consider you only have 58 gals (give or take a few) and you have a lot of things contributing to the heat, so I would say that sounds normal to me.

staticfishmonger - i never got to run my blueline. was too small for my closed loop...i have an iwaki 55rlt on my CL.

from what i hear they run cooler and more quiet than the iwaki's...and i am VERY impressed w/ the iwaki's

Macnreef - was wondering. it switches on and off a LOT. guess at least it cools it down FAST!!! wonde rwhat it will do w/ the 2x400w

Probably stay on constantly. But it only pulls 74.6 watts so running it all day shouldn't cost that much, actually probably cheaper than it cutting off and on. Because usually start up amps are higher than running amps.
