closed loop
I'm going to be running a sequence barracuda for my closed loop. It will have 2 1 1/2" intakes that will be teed together and the output will be split to the 4 corners of my tank. When I split the output, should I drop it to 1" or stay ar 1 1/2" all the way around? Would I notice any loss in flow by using 4 1" outputs rather than 4 1"1/2?

You could run 1 1/2" up then at the reduce it to 1" to either side then 4 3/4" thin wall oulets spread out the way you like them.
That is my opinion. People will do it diferent. I was thinking myself of running the pipes under the sand and having the outlet coming out the sand.

prafferty,
It looks like you might need a ball valve above the union on the vertical pipe on the right side of the photo. With your current setup, it looks like you might siphon water out when you loosen the union to service your pump. Regards, Jon |

Prafferty:
one problem I see on your sump is the baffle on the right, is high so when water dumps to the next is going to make bubbles and I think that is were your return water comes from so you are going to be sucking bubbles into your tank.
