Clean tank with bleach?
I have an old 70 gallon that has had copper in it before and i was wondering what would be the best way to clean it. Someone told me bleach but i couldnt figure out how to get the bleach out. i plan on setting this up as a prop tank cause my corals are getting to big. If anyone knows what would be the best way to clean let me know. Thank you!

I would use simple Vinegar and water, and muscle grease.

bleach can simply dry out if you let it.
I know people that have had to use bleach to kill off everything in the tank because of ich and then started over |

Bleach is fine to use. Just wash the tank out abotu 3 times with fresh water after using the bleach. After that fill the tank up with fresh water and add a whole bottle of that tap water dechlorinator. It will nutralize any bleach left over. Drain the tank and you are ready to go.

I don't think I would use the tank for inverts. I bought a used 160 gal tank and decided to move all my 135 gal reef into it for a bigger reef. Well the next morning all of my corals were looking bad, some had fell apart. I made a call to a friend that had alot of yrs experience. He asked if the tank had been coppered before. I replied, not sure. He said look at the silicone is it blue? it was.he told me to run a copper test on the water. Guess what I got a high copper reading. I had to dismantle the tank in a hurry before everything started soaking up the copper. I lost a couple hundred . The copper was leeching from the silicone. Do yourself a favor please test it for copper before adding inverts. JME.
