worth making sump?
is it worth it on a 20 gallon, or just go with a HOB filter?

if you have the time, tools, etc. I definatly think it is worth it. Probably even more in a nano tank because just adding a little bit will greatly increase stability.

Personally If the space allows I always include a sump . More room for filtration , more water volume , more stability and theres nothing worse than trying to move crap around in a small *** space .

Either sump or hang on back refugium. You could make one the length of your tank and it would be great for extra water volume plus an area for microfauna. I personally really like the full refugiums on the back. Its like another tank

+1 For both!!!!
add your sump and add a HOB fuge but put it where the sump is(that is only if you dont have room on the tank itself ) not only will you add volume for more stability but, you will also be able to make it easier to do your water changes without changing the hight of the water in your main display.... some Corals are really sensitive to light so when ya do your water changed i am sure the par increases with the sump your water level would only minimally drop . Then add your fuge and you are golden for pods, microfauna and remote DSB even good luck....

i was wondering how to make a decent sump...a 5 gallon would probably be the only thing that would fit in the stand. a HOB fuge might not be that bad of an idea as well, can probably get one cheap on ebay or something.

if 5g is all you can do i would def say go with just a HOB fuge bc you probably wont be able to run much water through it without bringing micro bubbles back... what is the dims that you are working with??

yea well if you have 24 in legnth go with a 10G sump or maybe even a 15G should def fit.... you can put 1 baffle in there just to separate the skimmer from the return pump and possibly kill some bubbles b4 it gets back into the pump

welp... bubba has a great price and pretty good equipment, but the sticker shock was a little too much for my friend... he's going to read a book i have and see if he still wants to go with getting one, but right now i'm not sure if he'll do it or not.
