I lost my chrys female =(

After several months of struggling to get a surviving pair of chrysopterus (white tailed variety) last spring, I finally ended up with a good solid healthy pair (long fight to get them through quarantine). I transfered them into their permanent tank back in June(ish). They've been doing great, settling in, eating well etc... there was finally some tile cleaning going on and I was begining to think I may get lucky some time in the future.

I went down for the their nightly feeding and she'd jumped out. She wasn't a jumper that I ever saw, and I cover the tanks with eggcrate. However, apparently I forgot to replace the eggcrate securely at their earlier feeding and for whatever reason, she jumped. =(

She was about the size of my hand, and gorgeous. My wife is quite sad as well. Sorry, I needed to share this loss, and my guilt for not replacing the top and no one at work is going to understand (and my family all ready thinks I'm nuts) so I thought I would post here.

The poor male is clearly confused without his mate in there to push him around and keep him occupied. ={
