Another Nice Clownfish ID Please

I thought is two banded but want to make sure. The LFS thought it was blue stripe (orangfin), he said it came from Vanuato (Close to Australia).. I know two banded come from Red Sea.. Did the supplier make a mistake or what.

those look an awful lot like clarkii to me. the mid bar being too wide to be chrysopterus or even bicinctus. and the location is also a give away.

I'm guessing bicinctus, but that fat second bar sure makes me wonder clarkii. What size are they?

They sure are gorgeous Mo.

This pair is really good size (female or bigger) is about 3.5" -4" ..
I have another pair of the same fish that are smaller and I had them for about a year (they were small when I got them). They are doing good today and kinda spooky when I go downstairs. The back bar is what is confusing me because all the pictures I have seen of bicinctus have thinner bar. I have not seen clarki with nice color tail like these. There are too many mis ID fish in the net that make it confusing. All of my books are donated to a local high school library so can't see untill tomorrow if any in the book.

Go to google.com and type the scientific name in the images search and you get a lot of pics. Keep in mind they're not all correct.

The clarkis from Vanuatu have only two stripes and can have some interesting black markings as well. I am pretty sure that is what you have.

Check the second box of pictures. Drawings are not as good as pictures and the colors are a little exagerated but those are your fish.

The few species of clowns I've seen that were labeled as being from Vanuatu are always the most spectacularly colored. My lfs has a pink skunk the starts pink on top, shades into orange, and has yellowish pectoral fins, just awesome looking.

They are definitely Clarkiis, no doubt about it, Bicinctus or Chrys do not have stripes that thick, you can also just tell by the shape of the face.

If it makes you feel any better, the wholesale prices for chrys and a large Vanuatu clarki are very similar.

Now I feel better and more I look at them more I think is worth because they really look nice. I wonder if they have the same type of attitude as regular clarki (really mean fish)

Those are beautiful Clarkii.

That's the first time I've seen any quite that color other than very small juvies.

They are adult Vanuuatu Clarkiis. Should be the only adult Clarkiis with 2 white bands as adults.
