Mycedium "Challice" Placement
Just bought a great 4" cup shaped Mycedium from Reefer Madness.
I know people like Eric Borneman recommend "vertical" placement for this coral, and this coral does like bright light. My 92 gallon tank has a 250W 10K MH lamp with VHO supplementation. Since this coral is cup shaped, how should I "vertically" place this coral? Pointing "up"? Also, can I place this three quarters of the way up in my tank in the middle, or would this be too bright? Thank you. |

You want to place it low because it shades. It should be fine where you have it but if you start to see colors shift, lower it. Do you have a pic of it?

Yeah, make sure the cup portion does not shade itself (or collect debris) or the shaded region will die and you'll have to frag it to salvage it. They eventually will take more light but start slow and work your way up gradually
