you have a 50/50 chance. i had a coral beauty that never touched my corals, and i had a keyhole angel that terrorized my corals till i got rid of it. it really all depends on the fish itself.

They always carry a tag of " Introduce with Caution". Anyway, they are the least likely to peck on corals if compared with large angel.

All angels are a hit or miss when it comes to keeping them with corals as stated above. I would never take that chance. The only species that are reef safe are that of the Genicanthus species.

I had a pygmy cherub angel. Didn't nip at any corals but didn't get along with my clownfish so he had to go. Funny little fish, just wish he could've gotten along with the clowns.

All angels are shy, and clown are aggressive fish, if you have introduce the angels to an already established systems, they will not roamed in the open water, always near the back wall & within the LR and will not even go near where the clowns are.

A local reefer had his Genicanthus Angel start to pick on his Acanthastrea lordhowensis frag immediately after he introduced the frag to the tank.

I always thought they were the safest bet. I won't take that chance now.

pygme angels from the agri complex such as a cherub angel or african or brazilian flameback angle are your best bet for a reef if u ask me. They also stay small 3". I've have a brazilian flameback for over 2 years in my 46 bowfront reef with no problems.

A friend of mine has an Atlantic agri cherub angel in his SPS reef, with few LPS. The angel does not harm anything, but constantly pecks at all the Acropora in the aquarium, making them close their polyps during the daylight hours. Polyps only extend at night. No harm to the LPS, including Blastomussa, Echinophyllia, Favia, Euphyllia, and Acanthastrea.

My bicolor angel will nip at every button polyp that I put in my thank (palythoa), yet it's fine with closely related zoanthids.
It also prevents my kenya trees from fully opening with its nipping, but I'm kinda glad he does that. Keeps the tree in check.

I just got a couple of nice A. echinata (one may be some other Acanthastrea) and a cool Oxypora. If the Bellus picks on those she may very well be outta-here.

get a pair of Genicanthus angels and you will more than happy with them, although they will be a bit more pricy, they are more than worth it.

I have a lemon peel angel and it leaves my lps alone. When I introduce a new piece he tends to pick at it a few times but that only lasts for the first day. Once he gets used to the new tank mate everything is fine. No worries.
