Source for cultured octopus?
1. Is there a source for cultured octopuses out there since octopets went out of business?
2. If not, where is the best place to get a wild caught octopus? Preferably a bimac.

1) Not regularly. However at the moment there's a hobbyist with some available.
2) Check the availability thread at TONMO |

I have some eggs that will be hatching soon, but I do not like to ship them until they are a month or two old.

Where all will you ship to? Could someone come pick one up? I'm in the process of setting up a tank specifically for a bimac.

I can ship anywhere in the U.S., You can't pick it up mainly because I live on an island, but I could drop it off somewhere or meet you if you are close by (Los Angeles area)

How soon do you think they'll be ready to go--one month? Two? How much do you sell them for? I'd be happy to drive down and meet you whenthe time comes--less stress for the octo!

Marine did you ever set a price or is that still up in the air depending on what they look like?

Is there anyway to reserve one? We'd come get it, since that would mean less time in packaging, etc.

All the hatchlings/eggs died while I was away last weekend due to tank problems. I do not have anymore eggs at the moment but will post when I get more.

Unfortunatly, I work a lot and am not at home on most weekends so if something goes wrong I might not catch it in time.

The ones right now are from wild caught parents, I have some juv. octo's from a previous spawn that I'll try to breed when they get bigger.

I'm sure being marinebio_guy you'll be keeping track of how successfully you are able to raise the offspring of your captive bread octo's. Will be interesting to see your numbers, as many people have reported in the past that the number that will make it to maturity will be much lower then those offspring from the wild caught parents.

Perhaps were ever I saw that info in the past didn't take into account that many times hobbyist are trying with captive bread and marine biologist and those experienced in aquaculture were more likely to use wild caught.
