what do you guys feed your trumpets ?
I got two types of trumpet in as a bonus on a frag trade and want some varied opinions on feeding.
one is the green trumpet, and the other is white and under actinics it's neon green(correct name please). well yesterday they had thier fedders out and I fed them some soft meaty krill pellets. they ate it up and seemed to like it. but I want some varied opinion on feeding them. Thanks Brad

I never feed mine, and they continue to grow. Their feeder polyps come out about 3 minutes before the timer kicks off the lights. Yeah, they seem to be able to tell time.

Nothing. I do feed CE once a week when the lights are out so it might get some of that but I don't target feed it.

I wouldn't want to be the one cleaning the blender Do any of you guys have or have suggestions on making a long (~ 24") turkey baster? I know I'd feed my LPS more often if I didn't have to get my arm wet.

I rarely feed mine, but when I do it's usually krill or mysis. I suppose it also gets some cyclopeeze when I feed the tank. I've seen it eat everything though. Formula One, flake food, krill, mysis, brine, etc. You name it, it will eat it.

Mine catches what it can mostly mysis and CE.
I rarely target feed it, but when I do, I'll do it in the morning just after the actinics kick on and give it a little blast of CE. When it looks like this: Couple of weeks a go I was pouring the water that drains off my chato I harvest from the fuge back into the display because it gives the tank a pod treat. One really huge amphipod was scooting away from my orchid dotty back and ducted for cover right into the mouth of a trumpet head. No kidding the head split the next day! |

I just got mine, so no experience yet here. However, the LFS suggested that I feed it once or twice a week something meaty, squid, mysis, etc. He said it will grow without direct feeding, but if you do feed it, it will tend to form new baby colonies more often.
