Epsom Salts

Just wondering if any one uses this, and the results they get from it...... Also is there different grades of the salt cause i no it can be used in the garden or for medical reasons.

Cause from what i've found 25kg for £14 sterlin, it's alot cheeper than the magnesium buffer in the LFS..........

I use 2.5 cups per gallon of RO water. Add when needed! I usually add when it gets around 1000 to 1100 and bring up to 1350 to 1500.

Epson salts or Magnesium salfiet dehydrate is also used as bath salts.

I haven't heard of anyone using it in the garden before you.

i've never actualy used it in the garden but i no it is used....
Quote...Studies show that magnesium and sulfur, two components of Epsom Salt may:
Help seeds germinate
Make plants grow bushier
Produce more flowers
Increase chlorophyll production
Improve phosphorus and nitrogen uptake

thats why i wondered if there was a certain sort i should use for the reef tank

You can use them, but they tend to be high in sulfer.

Not all plants demand the same soil condition.

It's like saying all corals have the same demands.

In the US Epsom salts is sold as a USP grade at drug stores. It is not, however, suitable alone for use in boosting magnesium a lot.
