Anyone here from Glenwood area?

Or Know an experienced reefer around there?

A guy rescued a Purple Tang with HLLE from a Petco and has it eating flake food and seaweed. His tank isn't big enough for it long term and he would like to give the fish away to someone local to him who can provide a good home for it.

Let me know and I will put you in touch

Thanks.

Here's his post from another place

I just Rescued a purple tang with HLLE from Petco. They have had this tang for 3 months and it has a bad case of HLLE, it is about 4 inches long eating well flake and seaweed. My problem is that my tank is only 30 gallons, i am looking for some one in colorado that can take him for free and nurse it back to health. I will do my best with him to make him healthy.I will not ship this time of year.

Petco said that they are not allowed to treat sick fish so I had to take him. Can anyone help?

Thank You

BTW, The person that told the gentleman in Glenwood that they could not treat sick fish is dead wrong. I cannot speak for that Petco but I have seen the P & Ps that contradict, I applaud the gentleman for saving this fish. I will also share what I have seen here with all who will listen.

The way I have heard it its up to the individual stores. You being a GM should know lots better than I but I have read where there are a few petcos that actually do a very good job. Must be up to the individual manager or something.

Policies and procedures are in place, written by veterinarians, to be used by all. I cannot speak for them of course, but though I would share my $.02. Just like Grimm said though It is ultimately up to the GM of each store to ensure that the P & Ps are being followed, and all animals/aquatic life are well cared for.
I know our store is far from perfect, but we are better than we were and striving for better every day.
I have probably said too much already, off my soapbox now.

I hear that, "What do you mean your not trained and have never seen that kind of a machine before, JUST GO FIX IT!!!" I worked for a company that had branches over that way, just wondered if you were one of them.

I got out due to a car wreck. Of course I had finally figured out they were never going to pay me what I was earning so I just gave them their money's worth, was only really working 4 hours a day or so. Ahhh the joy of working in a satellite branch

Sounds like a good boss, the greedy ol hyde I worked for didn't really pay attention to us unless there was a complaint. We just kept our customers happy and did what we wanted. I felt sorry for the guys that worked at the main office, crappy pay and working conditions too
