My clown fish won't eat??
I have 2 clown fish and neither of them will eat (got them about 2 weeks ago). I have tried mysis, brine, and flake food. They chase the food around the tank and eat it but then spit it back out. Any ideas on what else to feed them or how to get them to eat...

How big are they? I have read that they will spit out anything that is too big for them. Try making the food smaller.

I'm having this same problem... I just got a pair of percs today, and they mouth pellets and cyclopeeze, but spit it back out.

Tylt33, they can take a few days to settle in and get eating...so don't be TOO worried yet. If they aren't eating within the week, then there's some cause for concern.
Chad, do try Cyclopeeze. I have had excellent luck with the frozen cyclopeeze and truly believe it's the reason my little ocellaris are alive today.

You can try cyclopeeze and also try a little garlic. This is a natural appetite enhancer.

what form of garlic do you guys use? i've seen garlic extract tablets, but i don't see how you'd use those... is there a liquid form, or do you guys actually mince cloves?
btw - my ocellaris wouldn't eat at first either -- for like a week. then i tried frozen cyclop-eeze and within a day or two he was hooked. switched over to frozen PE mysis w/ selcon and he's been a pig since... -tE |
