You guys are all so funny! You managed to make me smile after finishing one of the worst days of my life! We left early this morning to watch my childhood home be torn down. I was born in that house and thought, "Well, I have my husband and kids with me. We'll just get through it." But in the meantime our beloved Bassett Hound, Lacey, who has been being treated for Blastomycosis, died at approximately 8:30 AM at the vet, where she had been since Monday in very bad condition. Some one speaks in mysterious ways as we had to leave earlier then expected this morning because the crew has showed up to tear down the house. Sadly we didn't know about the dog until we left immediately from my mom's house when they were done to the vet's and found out that she had died shortly after we left for my mom's. They said that it looked like it was luekemia (sp? and too spent to look!)

You all are the best! Sorry I missed the part with the camera Aliie!

Gotta Love the Black and Gold.

I'm so very sorry to hear 2fishy....I understand the pain, I've lost 2 family pets this year. XXOO I'm sure there will be other Kodak moements to come.

Yes Icehockey, it was you. I like the Penguins, I bought one of the leather team jackets a few years back. I love penguins in general. I like the Steelers also. I wish Penn State was doing better though. It's a young team again and maybe next year the freshman won't be so nervous. GO LIONS!

Thank you Jeffrey and Aliie! Adam, my 9 year old, said last night that we should get a puppy for Missy, our other 10+ year old dog, so she isn't lonely. I told my husband what he said, and he said no we will let Missy be the only dog for awhile. I guess he is right.

Well, I better try to catch up on some things around here. Fell behind with the dog and the house demo.

Oh, and one more thing. Have I won this thing yet???

I got in so late last night, I didn't really read any of the previous posts and read the sad news this morning.

My sincerest condolences about your hound, Carole. It's amazing how animals can become such a large part of our lives.

I had to have my 18 year old cat put down back on the 6th of this month. Just the day prior, he was acting normal... but that morning, he was barely able to walk. When I picked him up, he was limp as a wet washcloth and could barely lift his head. When he finally looked at me with his sad and tired eyes... a voice from that gaze seemed to say, "it's time".

It is like have a piece of your heart ripped out.

Thanks coyote and I am so sorry about your cat! You said it exactly right, that is exactly how I feel right now. Like a piece of your heart has been ripped out. I know it gets better, but it sure does stink when it happens. I know what you mean about the eyes. I saw that in her and I also saw that in my other two dogs in the past. I am just so glad that this time, this one went on her own, and in the best possible care at the vet's office. I know if they couldn't save her there was nothing that we could have done. How strange that the symptoms that you described with your cat kind of reminds me of how the dog seemed. She couldn't even hold herself up and went downhill really fast. I guess it's the hard part of having pets.
