Keeping my Leather Happy

I have been having amazing growth out of a yellow leather I got. For a long time I have always heard how poorly they do. This guy is growing by leaps and bounds, and has sooo many polyps out all day...
I never see him close up for any length of time.. no skin sloughing...

Now I think I know why.. I took this this am a few hours before my lights come on.

here it is a few weeks ago:

Its looking better and better every day.

yes, I guess I should have mentioned that....

All my hermits gather there pre-dawn (at least). I assume they eat gathered fish poop, detritus and otherwise preen the skin of the leather. Because every day the leather is out, and open brighter than the day before it seems....

Anyone else have hermits cleaning their leathers?

Every morning for the last three days I have noticed a hermit on one of my small leathers. So yes it happens here too. There has been a lot of stuff caught on it, now it is gone. So I guess they are doing a good job cleaning, the leather seems happy.
