GSP Problem
I woke up this morning and I have been noticing that my GSP colony is deteriorating. The parts that are dying appear to turn the color of mold. When I blasted the tank with lights, I noticed that there were small, white creatures on the mat. Could this be the source of the problem. If so, what are they and how could I get rid of them.
Thanks for your input.

Cant do much w/out knowing the parameters of the water. What are your nitrates, pH, temp, SG, etc...?
As far as the "small white creatures"... Are they just little bug lookin things? If so, prolly just amphipods, which are very good to have. As the tank gets older, you'll start to find many many different creatures you never knew were in there. My tank is over a year old and i'm still finding new stuff on occasion. Hope this helps

What kind of lighting are you using. I have mine under Vho and thier spreading up the glass on the back of my tank. GSP seem to do well with heavy flow. The flow will help keep things off of them so they will open. If algae starts to grow on them they will not open and start to die.
