Question Cucumber splitting??

I have a sea cucumber, it is reddish with white spikes, and about a month ago it came up missing and then it reappeared last week and there are two of them now. One is larger than the other by at least two thirds. I read that they lay eggs by the thousands, but is it possible it could have split or budded another?

If well fed some cucumbers will reproduce through fission. Sounds like thats what has happened, so your cuke must be happy.
