Cleaning LiveRock

Hey,
I have currently have a 75g saltwater tank setup with just 3 damsels, a POS protein skimmer, Fluval 404, 2 175w MH's, and about 90lbs of LR. Just this last month the LR has been getting covered badly in hair alage and detritus. I've been slowly siphoning out teh sandbed b/c that's been harvesting a lot of crap as well. The tank is only going to be setup for another few months but i'm afraid it wont make it that long. Also dont want to put gunky LR in my new tank setup. What should i do? i'm currently doing a big DIY skimmer but it's in-sump and i dont have a sump on the 75g. Thought about just making a stand and laying it directly in teh tank. Btw, lights are on 8hrs a day. what do u think i should do? thanks.
