Does anyone have those spacing blocks I can borrow? I'm going to try to duplicate this project on my own with the acrylic pieces.

What pumps are everyone using, and how many pounds of media?
I need to decide between a Mag2 or Mag3, or perhaps an Eheim 1250. The Mag5 seems overkill for this kind of application.

25 lbs leaves some open space at the top, not much though. I plan on using a Eheim 1250 IF I can get some adapters for it. I've seen to lost mine

Yeah, I see the Eheims use flex hose. Can the adapters be unscrewed and replaced with 1/2" fittings? I've never owned one.

I attempted to hook up my 1250 and it was a disaster. The output is 3/8" thread so the only option is a hose barb. Once I got everything glued and hooked up the input leaked constantly around the propeller cover. I swapped it out with a Mag3 and seems to be doing fine.

Both chamber.

Anyhow, I also have a question. I purchased media while ago, during the BAR group purchase, a 50 lbs bag. I noticed that the media is not totally dried. Shall I wash them before use since they been just sitting around for a while now?

lapsan, this looks like parameters of your effluent. How many bubbles per minute & how strong is the flow?

How about your tank's PH, CA and dKH?

Yes, 2, er, well, 1 is available. The other is missing two pieces, which I hope to get back next month at our frag swap.

What's the ph of your effluent? If it's arm media it should be right arount 6.8 to 7. Too low it'll mush. Too high it won't disolve. Your BPM sounds high. Try 17-20. Reactors differ here but the effluent ph should be the same.
