As of now, terrible.
I ran a little late getting to her apartment to drop it off with her roommate, no one was there so I left a note (7ish), she had a 2hr exam and then said she had the run errands but still she should of been back. I guess it was no ment to be, or I'm just really disappointed. We'll see how it goes tomorrow, maybe she really has an excuse...I don't know. |

Oh the note I left at her place said something like :
Ashley, Sorry I was late but it seems I missed your roommates. Give me a call later when you get home and I'll drop your surprise off. Sean. Something like that, I don't remember exact words, since then I've been in the library studying calculus. The other note is next to the food and therefore, she hasn't gotten it. |

You better be a chick.
But in the end, no matter how sweet it is, theres nothing I can do to make someone have feelings for me. I have a very negative outlook on things for instance: Because she didn't call me, I'm now thinking, maybe she doesn't want to see me, maybe I should just forgo the whole thing. Maybe she calls me a sweetheart and babe in a friendly way, maybe she tells me we should hang out just to be friendly...I don't know, I don't understand you women. Someone offer a course on them and I'll sign up for it. So its 12:13 and nothing from her, I guess my plan didn't work like I had intended. At least I have dinner waiting for me when I go home, I just miss not having anyone special to share it with. |

Wow that brings back a memory from 13 years ago! A guy I knew showed up on my doorstep out of the blue with my favorite kind of pie (boysenberry) and said he was out with some buddies at Marie Callenders and when they had dessert he "just thought of me." It was a very sweet gesture and tugged at my heart, but I was involved at the time. I invited him in to eat the pie, made it clear that I was unavailable, and introduced him to a friend who'd come by to hang out. They hit it off and are now married! Things always work out in the end...

So are you saying I shouldn't eat it and instead try to find time to bring it by, even if they have to warm it up?
I wish I didn't have such a negative outlook, but I always seem to, especially when I don't know 100% whats going on on the other side. |

Sometimes having a negative outlook is just someone's way of protecting themselves against potential rejection.
I think you have a heart of gold and if she's not the one for you..it really is for the best. Some VERY lucky girl is out there for you,for certain!(I wish you were close to 24 yo and in Cali,my little sister needs a gentleman like you) |

You need that some of "hard to get" things going on. Girls are in denial, but girls are usually attracted to jerks and A-holes, and sometimes are attracted to the "nice guy" next door only when they are so sick of all these jerks. Gear up and get some attitude. Not telling you to be a jerk 24/7, but you need to be both a jerk and sometimes, very rarely, a nice guy. Just like fishing, pull, release, pull release. From what I have seen, these guys who knows how to play that, dates a lot more, and ends up with a nice girl just because they have more to select from. But those who are too nice, have harder time getting a girl and ends up with these controlling B**ch. I am sorry. I too wish a perfect world. It just isn't.

In high school maybe, but I think college is a little different.
Not to be cocky, but there are definitely a few girls who like me because I'm sweet, but the feelings aren't always mutual; how ironic. I'm going to have to say you're theory is your way of justifying a lack of girls |

Your mistake was your note.
"suprise" could be interpreted so many ways. hindsight is 20/20 - but I would have just dropped the food with a note. "Hey - knew you were stressed out with finals, figured you could use a break and a meal" No "call me" or "I'll be back with your suprise" or "I baked this just for you". You came on too strong. Backpeddle it - or you're SOL.... Bottom line is you need her to START thinking about you that way ON HER OWN. You cannot force open the petals of a flower..

The note may have been the mistake, I've considered that many times last night. However, she lives in a college apartment complex, if I had left food outside her door chances are someone would have stolen it.
When I talk to her next...I'll back pedal...not exactly how I intend to, but I will.. |

all i can say is it's nice to know that guys obsess and analyze every interaction as much as we women do-you almost never hear them admit it though!

When you say Backpedal, you mean everything or just the note? Could I say something like: "Hey, sorry about coming off so strong in that note, didn't intend to. What I simply meant was, when you got a chance let me know so I could drop this by your way. I didn't want my roommates to eat it *laff* "
What about something involving: "Sorry if I came off a little strong, I was just really hoping to impress you with a warm dinner" - Let her know I really tried hard... is that bad? Quote:

I think the best thing to do is just to let it "roll off your back" as if nothing has happened.I mean, the ball is in her court.Let's assume she got the note. It's now up to her to ask you about it or even give you an extra special smile when she sees you.If she does ask just say you remembered her favorite food and had brought some(say it nonchalantly)
If she acts like nothing has happened..leave it alone. You've done your part. You bringing it up to her would be overkill.Keep us posted. |

So, for instance, if I talk to her today, and she doesn't mention anything. I shouldn't mention a time to give it to her? Let her ask for it?

I think if the curiousity is killing you, you could say"did you get my message last night?" if she asks further about it THEN you can say"Oh, I was just going to drop off some dinner, too bad I missed you"
If she acts like it matters:ask her if she thinks she'll have any free time this week to try your cooking. It'll give her an easy way to beg off if she wants to. If she acts like" yeah, I heard I missed you" then just blow her off. |

Yes, and THEN would be the time for a well-timed, drunken, sobbing message where you call her a whore, then tell her she may as well have torn your heart out of your chest and thrown it under a city bus. Trust me. She'll come running back.

An opinion from a female.... (YES, I AM A CHICK!)
If she hasn't said anything or gotten back to you then let it go. Obviously she is inconsiderate enough to not at least see what was going on. If she is doing that, then do you really want anything more with her? You sound like you really like her and want to at least get to know her better, but if she is brushing you off then it's a waste of your time. You did what you could to do something really nice for her...save it for a girl that will appreciate the effort! ...the ball is now in her court! |
