Things happening kinda slowly these days but the room is being completed along with my fishroom.

A friend of mine is building the overflow box and another one is building a frame for all the lights.

When the room is finished and the construction workers are out I can finally start with the plumbing and such. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

I'll upload a few pics soon.

gonna call in a fire truck hooked to a massive ro/di unit to fill it? hehe
One of many good things about Iceland is the clear water, nobody here uses ro/di unit!

Arnar this is looking pretty cool!

Cured Rock

You can keep the cured live rock out of the water for at least 48 hours provided you cover it with sea water soaked news paper. Try to keep the room temp close to tank temp during this process to extend this period.

Why do I get the feeling that the overflow box could have its own thread in the Large Reef Tanks forum?

Yes the project is still alive

Construction work is painfully slow but here are a few photos of my fish room coming to life.

what is the plans for ventilation in the room? with any large tank there is issues with ventilation. when we designed the fish room for st judes hospital we had them install a special exaust vent and 24 hr air conditioning for the room.

We have a few ideas on ventilation but it's hard to plan it 100% before since I haven't put such a tank together before. There is a short distance from the tank to the outside so we can easily duct what we need for air circulation. I'm also probably going to use water cooling for the tank it self. Some of those thing will be clear when the tank progresses.

When you slid the tank in place, did you use some sort of lubricant? It looked like they were smearing some on with their hands?

Yep we used some "plumber grease" to try to make it easier.

They are finally finishing the room and last week they were painting it. I've been away for a week and I just got back tonight so I'm hoping the room will be ready next week. If that is the case you will be getting a lot more frequent updates of the project

I am sitting here at work reading this thread and I can't get enough. This tank form delivery to now is purely impressive. My co-workers keep asking me why I am laughing. Every time I see a new pic I'm shocked into laughter. I am just amazed in the whole production of this tank. AWESOME!!!

Well, why build a house and then install a tank, when you can install a tank and build a house around it?

Two new photos of the room. They are making pathways for my plumbing in the floor.
