Flying Fish??

I am wanting to know if there is a good way to fly with fish. I know TSA only allows you to carry on 3oz of liquid, is there any ideas out there on how to get around this or pack them in checked luggage safely?

Check with the airlines or aircargo at the airport, they may have some info on it.

Some are common like bi color blenny's or wrasses. You could use some egg crate to help. Not all jump just some are more ready to do it. But most due in the fesrt week from other aggresive fish bothering him.

If you check them, a box with hard styrofoam like the ones retailers use would be perfect. I don't think you really need to carry them on. If your putting them in luggage maybe a plastic box, tupperware style with a bag inside.

I only did it once. had to fly some fish from MO to San Jose for the ACA convention back in 95. they wouldnt let me check them, I had to send them air cargo and pick them up at SJ when I got there.

but on the way back, I triple bagged some and snuck them into my suitcase so I wouldnt have to go through that hassle again. but that's a bad idea....a leaky bag will result in a hell of a lot of questions to answer.

Yeah I work for the airline, and I am looking for ideas, I could always fly somewhere to pick up some fish or whatever, also thru Southwest, I get 75% off fedex, I could really use that to my advantage but I have nothing to ship as I am new to this and dont have a plethora of anything valuable.

You can put them in a ziplock bag. then triple bag it in zip locks then put that in one of those bags fedex uses to ship blood and stuff. They seal really tight. Then stik it in your suit case. I wouldnt put it in your carry on bag.
