WTB: 5' tank

As some of you know, the bulkhead under our 75g is leaking slightly. We are going to need to tear the tank down to replace the bulk heads.

In lieu of that, we are thinking that a slight upgrade will work. Basically, we are looking for a 5' tank. We tried the 6', but it is just too big for our room.

Does anyone have one they are looking to sell? If not, do you know of any places locally (read: WI and IL) that sell a tank that size?

Perfecto makes a 120 that is 5 ft. long and 18 inches wide. Personally when I am ready to upgrade again I want to go with a custom tank that is 5 ft. long and 3 ft. wide 2 ft. high. But lighting may be an issue depending on what the market has to offer.

Yeah, we're really trying to fit it properly to the room. We have talked about this pretty extensively, and that extra 6", while very helpful, is just not in the correct dimension for the room. The tank will start to be "in the way".

Really, the ~18" width is perfect. Really we would like to go a little taller (currently ~22", so ~25" would be ideal) and a little longer. We had a 125 in the living room where the 75 is, and it was just too large. Didn't fit the room at all. That's why we down graded to the 75g. A 5' tank is pretty much the perfect size...5' x 18" x 25", or a 115g.

Yeah, I called them this morning...since I am not in a great hurry, I'm going to keep an eye out for a used one, but I am not holding out a lot of hope.

I'll probably end up getting one from there. Thanks!

I looked and looked for a used 6 foot tank. Found a lot of junk tanks out there (mainly on Craigslist) and finally bought new at A.W. for the price some people were asking used.

I hear that...like I said, our "plan" is to buy one from there. But you never know when you will come across something worthwhile on craigslist.

Hopefully you will have better luck finding a deal on a used one than I did.

Just beware of the used tank that still smells of silicone and the seller telling me that it has never leaked and that they just emptied it out to sell it!
I am not kidding, someone actually tried pulling that on me.
That tank was being sold on the list in "excellent condition".
