Euro-reef Mod

I currently have a Euro-reef CS 6-2. It has no mods, I think, I bought this used from a fellow reefer here on RC. The pump does not say what pump it is, so not really sure if its a Sedra 3500 or 5000 or even one at all for that matter. I am thinking of installing a gate valve mod to it. Can anyone explain how to do this or maybe a diagram and the parts I will need. This skimmer is in sump sitting in about 8" of water. Thanks in advance.

the mesh mod is performed by cutting off all of the needles on your wheel, and sewing a disk of Enkamat mesh in its place. if you search the site you'll find plenty of how-to threads.

Hey steve

the mod is just replacing the riser tube with a gate valve- used to dial the amount of skim.

just look at a Recirculating ER to get the idea, why waste a lot of money buying the kit when you can buy the gate valve in any local home improvement store

I don't see how the gate valve mod would improve performance.

It does't necessarily improve performance it just makes dialing the skimmer in easier. You can make very small adjustments easily unlike with the riser pipe.
