Ph probe location?

I understand that the ph probe must be at least one inch deep or can be completely submerged, but does the probe go in the display or the sump? Does it make a difference. Thanks.

I'd say the sump is the best choice by leaps and bounds. If the probe was in the display, it would be at the mercy of the cleaning crew and coralline algae which would make for a shorter lifespan and inaccurate readings not to mention being an eyesore. T

The pH of a tank varies little (if any) throughout the system. The only reason I keep mine in the main tank is "out of sight, out of mind."

I like to see when the tip is getting dirty.

This might sound a bit too obvious, but you should at least put the pH probe far away from the calcium reactor's effluent, other wise the pH reading might be lower than the tank's.
