Recommendation for power head

I currently run 2 seio's but have noticed that they're getting weaker. I'd like to try some Tunze's. I have a 4 foot tank (around 90-100 gallons). What Tunze should I get and how many? I have a pretty strong return from my Eheim pump from the sump.
Thanks.

have you seen the new koralia's?
they're a lot cheaper than tunzes...unless you want the powerheads to be controlled. then i'd go for 2-6100's

I second 2x 6100. I have a 4 footer but only 60 gal. I feel that the 2x 6000 that I have right now is just right... would probably prefer it a little stronger still since I have bare-bottom.

If I have to do it all over again though, I would plumb the return to a sea swirl, which I think is much better than pumps on controller.

Have you cleaned your Seios lately? My Tunzes get weak also if I neglect to clean them for 1 month.. but if you really want to switch, I suggest going with the TS21 kit.

I actually haven't cleaned them. I'll try that and see if the flow gets any better. I'll also check out the korallias. They sound promising. Thanks.

while they are being cleaned you could make the intake slots bigger and might p/u more gph. i did on my tunzes and it worked great. they are also easier to keep clean. need to make sure that no small fish can fit through. just a thought.

2x6100 is going to be nice, but even with 2x6000 will be enough for a 90 gallon tank.

Just curious, how exactly do I make my intake slots bigger on my seio's?

gabe,

you and your mj mods!

you can mod tunze nano 6025's to almost put out 1200gph.

the mods are very easy and the nano's are pretty aesthetic...compared to...hehehe, sorry gabe...mj mods.

but, you do get more flow out of a mj mod...i just find them aesthetically challenging in a beautiful main display.

i also modded koralia 4's (again, very easy) and will very roughly guess that they put out easily 1600gph but may be creeping to the 2000gph zone. no one that i have read has done a definitive flow test on them.

hard to beat the 7 watts that the nano's use and the 4's 12 watts.
