Is the tank open top? If not, open it and place a fan to blow across the top of the water. That should help a lot. What kind of lighting are you using and how far is it from the water surface?

the 'ol ice cubes in a sealed plastic bag, or r/o icecubes in the sump is a good quick fix

i had the same problem on my 30. I put a 16" fan (table fan) blowing over my open sump and the temp is now at 78-80 constant. I also have no fan on the top of my tank and the glass lid totally covers the top.
I have a 30 gallon with a 10g sump. The sump has a Mag7 and ES6-1 in it. The ES keeps the water oxygenated cause the top glass is on. |
