Tang fadeing

My Kole Tang has lost his color over the last few days. The only things I've added lately are some mushrooms, I did change the PC bulbs from 55w to 65w. Any ideas?
Thanx, John

How large is the fish? A 55 gallon tank may not be enough room for him. What to do you feed him and how often? I would say keep his belly Fat.... Using dried seaweed....

I did notice one change when the lights came on today.....HE'S DEAD!! I dont get it if it was a parasite wouldnt it have shown up earlier. It has been 3 months since I added any fish.Should I worry about the others? None of them have had any problems, but neither did the tang until 3 days ago. I did a water change (5 Gallons) on Sat. could that have something to do with it. my param( PH 8.1, alk normal(crappy Red Sea test) NItrate nitrite and ammonia all 0 calc 425)Any help would be great Thanx John

jslomo420 was it faded to a grayish color or was it blotchy? Did you see any sign of a white powder on him like a light dusting?

Kaye

Watch the rest of your fish is you see Dusting, Ragged Fins, more discoloring than read this http://www.wetwebmedia.com/amylloodiniumart.htm
I would think you would have seen more signs by now on the other fish but something like Marine velvet can be introduced by LR or corals.

I find it strange that your Kole just died. Kole Tangs can become aggressive so him harassing your blenny would not suprise me, I have a very aggressive Kole Tang myself that I have had a couple of years now. When he gets mad he does turn a grayish color and can stay that way for minutes, hours or days.
Hope this helps a little

Kaye

Kaye, my tang would usually loose his color when he was chaseing the blenny or eating. The article scares me not b/c of my tang but I had gotten a rock w/ some polyps on it from a friend about 2 weeks ago he told me today that he had bought a scopus tang and it died. I asked for details he said it got real "ashy" for a day or two then he found it dead. I think now that i may not have noticed the spots b/c of the color of my tang it was almost grey. I havent seen any signs from my other fish but the lights wont be on for another 2 hrs and 8 mins( i'm not watching the clock i promise) Thanx for the advice Kaye
John
