would like to add a refug to the rear of my tank (24x24x16). the refug size would be 24x7x10. would this work? can i use acrylic or stick with glass since this is a glass tank?

aparently acrylic wont stick to glass with silicon.

so will the glass addition be able to support the weight of water plus some rubble with any type of support? i see lots of people plumb external overflow boxes to their main tank without any support.
