That's funny. I had a Remora and it skimmed like a champ. My Euro Reef RS-100 has been prone to flooding just like your Remora is doing. I've never placed any additives in the tank either. The RS-100 has not produced skimmate in the 3 months that I've had it. Just flooding every other day.

Could the Mag pump be too strong for the Remora? Creating too much foam from the force of it?

PS- I'm getting a Tunze 9010 today to replace my RS-100. I'll let you know how I make out...

I was wondering about the pump being too strong as well.
You'll have to tell me how the tunze works out for you.

I used a mag 3, 5 and 7 on my remora and the pump's weren't strong enough to get any skimmate in my collection cup : ( IMO the remora is on the top of the list for biggest piece of junk skimmer out there.

OK, what would be a better choice
EuroReef RS 100 or EuroReef CS5-2?

Im running a Tunze 9010 on my tank and im empty the cup every three days and its half way filled. I also clean it every 3 days to keep it consistant. When you clean the cup your cleaning the reaction chamber at the same time since they are together. I love the skimmer....FWIW

The RS-100 is the newer version. Rated for 100 gallons. The CS5-2 is discontinued. Rated for 75.

I run a Tunze and it works great.

I had the Aqua as well and ran into the same problem. The skimmate was very light. The only adjustment seemed to be moving the collection cup up or down. Plus that mag 3 was a monster in the tank.

I put the Tunze on the tank and you should see what this thing is skimming out nasty!

I have the same skimmer and had the same problem. I then tried somthing. You can not clean the inside of the collection cup riser tube at all. (let it build up a thick layer of crap). What I would do is rise the collection cup all the way up and let the skimmer run. You will get alot of water for the first week or two. As the water starts to decrease lower the cup little by little until you find the happy spot. But remember never rinse or clean the insde of the collection cup riser tube. Hope this helps.

Depends on if you are going with an in-sump or hang-on. HOB, I would go with Octopus, Deltec(course they cost more and the other 2 could outskim it) or Bermuda Rogue(I have one also and I'm not even maxing it at all). For in-sump, well your measurements are a little weird, but the euroreef rs100 sounds good. I know somebody who claims the rogue could outskim a euroreef though AHEM* AHEM* COUGH*.

I hated my Euro Reef RS-100. It didn't skim at all.
