A: Take it like a man and act casual.

B: Drop it like it was a bomb. And look real dumb founded

C: Gently place back in and prepare to disect the rock.

C! Find out what it is!

As a curious person by nature, I'd be grabbing a hammer and smashing the rock trying to figure out what it was. Could be a Mantis or Pistol Shrimp. Both make pretty loud noises.

If you run and scream like a girl... be sure to wave your arms in the air at the same time!

Seriously.... take the rock out again and have a fresh water dip prepaired, get the pistol / mantis out but please don't kill it!

Yeah don't kill it unless it was an accident, like dropping the hammer on it, or a piece of the rock or...........

Pistol shrimp won't hurt anything; mantis is another story. Could, however, be a burrowing clam.

I just found a 5 inch bristle worm in my tank the other night. As soon as i turned ont he lights to get a better look he crawled in a whole. Those spines looked sharp! It was a tan/ beige which i think is the one that is not going to hurt anything.

LOL, indeed!
All of us have one critter we just can't bear to handle. For me, I hate to say it, it's starfish. Brittle stars, regular stars, just can't manage it without the creepies. I wear gloves. And they still give me the willies, more than anything else in the tank including poisonous ones.

Your worm, yep, probably a fine little bristleworm.
