Never heard of a limit (like hermit crabs) but keeping enough of them fed may probably be the challenge to having a lot of them. For food I've done well with phytoplankton and zooplankton. Placement is key for these guys so don't be quick (or IMO never) to permanently affix them somewhere.

I put mine at the bottom in the sand. One kind of buried part of his tube under a rock. The other is resting on top of the other one. I feed phytoplankton. They seem happy!

I have two in a 55 gall. I placed them in the sand, and I must say I have never fed mine the things you listed, hmm I think I should get some. They do look fine tho, always open and big.

Two not opening isn't uncommon. I've seen them come in from shipments and not open for two days or longer. Some adjust quickly while others take some time.

The Marine Snow is a pretty good product. Works fantastic in my friends tank. Everything from SPS to feathers like it. I have a bottle but haven't used it yet.

I had one that was small for the longest time but once I found a good spot for him (by trial and error) -- in the sand -- he eventually achored himself near a rock and then flourished (got much fuller and larger).
