Feeding Blasto's

Just curious? What does everyone feed their Blasto's, and do they grow fast, or slow.

B.merletti grows faster than B.wellsi, neither are what i would call a fast growers.I usually just broadcast feed the tank at night a mixture of mysis,CE,GP's.I also have observed them eating flake food that fell on them after feeding the fish so i dont think they're too picky.

I'm actually curious too. I just blow the rocks with a turkey baster before lights out and hope they get some 'marine snow'.

The other day I noticed my wellsi's are laying down some baby polyps! Whoo hoo!

mine have been doing that as well,at first i thought the big polyp was receding because i could see the skeleton at times, but after observing it over the past 2 wks,3 baby polyps have budded at the margins off of it.

i would say that my merleti will eat anything that goes into the tank, brine, mysis, prime reef, flake, pellet, anything really. in my experiences the merleti is a pretty fast grower, then again my colony has somewhere between 100-150 polyps and gets fed alot of light and food for growth.

When does everyone feed them? During the day with the lights on, or at night with the lights off.
