Look What I Bought!!
Just thought i'd share my new purchase. I just picked this guy off of liveaquaria. For those that don't know its a red-spotted coral croucher. I will keep everyone posted as to its progress.
By the way....does anyone have any experience or suggestions in keeping them? I have read everything I can find on various websites and wetwebmedia, put personal experiences or always appreciated. Thanks and I'll keep you posted |

Not sure if it is eating yet but they are nororious for not doing well in captivity. They usually fail to eat prepared foods and slowly waste away but since it came from LA's diver den than I hope they got it eating before they sent it.

I've kept one before. They are VERY tiny and must be spot fed, thus in a bigger tank they'd be impossible to feed... though may find enough pods.
They are venemous, but only if you grab them, I don't think they charge like some scorpions. I kept one in a small 8 gallon finnex tank and he lived for about 6 months. I moved him into a larger 40g breeder tank, and kept him in a small strawberry basket for a few days so that I could setup his tank somewhere else... I think the move did it and he died =( They are really cool, they sit in a crevice and dash out to get food and quickly swim back to their crevice. They're very narrow so they fit into small cracks. I think they're awesome to watch, but hard to feed sometimes. I fed mine brine / mysis. He never went for flakes. I got mine from Sharkysreef last year. Goodluck with him! |

I don't think he eats acro's...
He was in a tank full of sps, only ate mysis and brine... |

Fish is doing well. He is an elusive guy loves to hide. Makes it kinda fun trying to find all his hiding spots. I wouldn't recommend one for a large tank, because you'd never find him...I have trouble sometime in my 24g, which can make spot-feeding him difficult at times. Cut little guy though and would definitely buy him again. Anyone else own one? POst a pic if so

Yeah he would be going in a twelve gallon. What are you feeding? Any other fish with him? Thanks
