I picked OSU to beat FLA easily. Like I said - if the OSU team had shown up like they did at times during the season, they could've won (could've, not would've). Nobody (really, nobody) would've picked the game to be how it turned out. FLA was a team possessed that night, not the same FLA team that had played during the rest of the season. OSU played one of their worst games in the past 15+ years, on par with the Iowa slaughter in 04 and a couple others scattered through the years.

FLA forced OSU to play bad. FLA looked (yes they did) invincible that night. FLA created lots of pressure against OSU, and had so much momentum, no one was going to slow them down. As the game went on, it got worse and worse for OSU and better and better for FLA. FLA played a smart game.

I am tired of this "OSU played their worst game of the season but if they showed up then they would have won." Thats giving FLA no credit by saying that. Even saying "could have won" is still dishonoring. FLA came out and made OSU look bad. FLA made OSU play one of their worst games. FLA made OSU look like a highschool team. Do you not remember the first play of the game? OSU had all the momentum they needed to come out strong. FLA just simply shut OSU down and finally shutup all the damn OSU fans that kept running their mouths. Notice how like 80 percent of the OSU fans that once readily replied on this thread ceased. I LOVE IT.

OSU played bad but they didn't play that bad, they got outplayed worse.

This is what I have been basically saying, just not in these simple words that Grim just said. OSU did play a bad game but FLA outplayed them even more. OSU was shutdown by FLA. The better team won that night and it was OBVIOUSLY the gators. I mean 41-14. Come on. Thats just a slaughter.

It's not dishonoring FLA. OSU could have won, just like USC, UM, or LSU could have. The only thing that matters is that FLA did win. Notice that nobody has done the same thing Leinart did last year, stating that his team was still better. I'm not saying OSU's better, just this - if OSU had put together a great game, they could have won. Putting it more plainly: OSU would have needed a great game to have a chance to win that night. Now is that dishonoring FLA, or honoring them?

Everyone will agree that FLA played a smarter (and much better game) than OSU. FLA certainly outplayed OSU. However, as an OSU fan that has been watching the games for somewhere around 15 years religiously, that was one of the worst games I've seen on OSU's side. It was a combination of playing a really good opponent and having a horrible day. Hugely disappointing OSU games include 95 UM, 98 MSU, 04 Iowa, and a couple others. 07 FLA is about the same (for me at least) as 95 UM, 04 Iowa. I'd say 98 MSU might still be worse, but that's about it. 98 MSU was OSU playing a far inferior opponent and blowing a big lead to lose, which I'd say is worse than this loss.

BUT. That was by far the worst game I remember seeing OSU play since the 90's when John Cooper was our coach. It was beyond a dissappointment. It was an embarrasment. We shut ourselves down. Our coaching was horrible. Our guys didnt want to be there, some have even said so since the game... They were tired of being in Arizona, 4 out of the past 5 years. They were there for 11 days, Boredem had set in.

I'm glad Gonzo is moving on and I personally hope Ginn and Pittman go too. After an end to the season like that I wouldnt expect much heart in them for next season either. We all need a fresh start.

Now I'm NOT saying we would have won if we played well, The Gators did suprise me. You guys were fast, hit hard and had a damn good D. But I think that game should have been a lot closer. It should have been more like the 2002 NC game. Our players just didnt have any heart and soul in the game and I think it was obvious. Accept that if you want to or keep saying it was all your Gators... Its your bragging rights for the next year. I'd probably talk some crap too if we would have won.

I think if those two teams had played in October, it would have been an entirely different game.

When it comes to big games, FLA ususally does well even if they only win by a blocked field goal.

If FLA played in October, it probably would have been a different game. But just remember, our defense was even stronger back then when we had Marcus Thomas. But even in October, I still think it would have been a close game.

BTW ECE, I definately remember you comparing FLA's D to UM's D right before the UM/OSU game. Well now that you have seen FLA play OSU, not even close.

I dont think people understand 55semireef. FLA made OSU look like crap, it was not that OSU lost it. OSU had everything going for them the first play of the game and should have had the momentum the rest of the game with their so called high power offense, but then again playing pattsies the numbers would be inflated like they were. FLA outplayed, outlasted, and beat them fair and square. FLA "D" shut down the high powered offense and made the heisman winner look like he had no idea what he was doing. In fact like semi said i really feel bad for OSU, its kind of pathetic that they were that overrated for the entire season. They played pattsies the whole year besides UM which arent really that good anyways. But the SEC showed their dominance yet again. So everyone can we all say this at once. " THE SEC IS THE BEST IN ALL OF SPORTS AND WE ALL KNOW IT, BUT JUST DONT LIKE TO RECOGNIZE THE FACTS."

By the way also look out for Alabama next year as well,we might have a repeat of 1992 for them. Which would make them have 12 NC's.

I will give you a hint, they have a DAWG as their mascott.

Thats bcause good teams play in the big bowls. Little teams with dawgs as mascots end up playing in the Toledo Soup bowl or the Jonesborro Possum Bowl because the real bowls dont want them.
