I've just made my first ever frag
It's a great feeling.
It's still early days but I've just made my first ever frag. I cut the head of a mushroom and placed it on live rock in my sump (covered by a cut platic water bottle) - so far it looks to be ok but I know time will tell. And the remainder of the parent mushroom looks to be already starting to form the begining of a new head.

with your sand grain size you could just lay the shroom on the bottom for a couple of weeks. When it attaches to the substrate simply glue it to the rock.

Don't get me wrong, your method will work. It just wouldn't be practical for more than a few at a time. With the gravel bed technique you could literally have hundreds of shrooms on the bottom at any given time.

I took your advice and just left the mushroom on the substrate.
It soon attached and it's now at home back in the main tank. I've made 2 new cuttings and split one of the frags in 2. I've placed the new frags straight on the substrate in the cut bottle. more info on the blog
