spiderwebs

Greeting... have had my 90 FOWLR set up now for 8 months now... everything doing very well, but i have have had some strange things growing in the tank lately that i do not know what they are.. sorry no camera.. they are tiny white dots on back of glass that are round and very hard about 2mm in diameter that look like some sort of barnicle... they almost look like they are in a curled up pattern?? also i have in the back wall in some shaded spots which looks like spiderwebs growing... i have about 100 pounds of live live rock and many hitchhiker coral growing under 256 watts of t5 lighting... good corraline. Does anyone know what these things could be? Bunker

The little white dots are called spirorbis (aka feather dusters ) they other sounds like vermetied snails. The net is how it catches food then pulls it in. The nets are ugly but the dusters and the snails are not harmful and a good sign of health

Vermetid snails have a spiral, tubular shell that is attached to the rock. They usually come in as hitchhikers on LR.

I don't think that corals molt. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that's one of the main differences between sessile invertebrates (corals) and motile invertebrates (crabs, shrimp, etc)
