JediReefers 60 Gallon Cube

I feel I can finally make a post about a tank I have! As of right now there is not much to it, but this will be my log thread. I plan on doing mostly SPS, maybe the occasional micro or ricordia.

Here is the hardware right now, I dont have the skimmer for SPS right now, but I plan on getting a new one in a few weeks.

60 Gallon Cube
SS Lumen Max 2 SE
SS Galaxy 400w Ballast
XM 400w 20k
18 Gallon Sump
Aqua-Euro USA Skimmer ( I know I know )
QuietOne 3000 for the return, I figure it is putting about 300gph out the return which is what I wanted.

I had a single K4 in my 60g long and I decided to change that out for 2 K3's. I only have one on at the moment, makes the LPS mad.

As fast as livestock, it is pretty slim at the moment, a pair of mated clowns (they are about 5 years old now), a small 6 line wrasse, and a lemonpeel angel.

Inverts include a marshall island electric blue hermit, a few nassarius snails, and about 12-15 turbo snails, as well as a sand sifting star I have had about a year now.

Currently 90lbs of LR in the tank, I wanted some vertical space to allow the SPS to grow up.

There is an open brain I plan on keeping, and the hammers I am trying to get rid of right now actually.

On with the pics?

Here is the tank shortly after it was setup.

And here it is a few days later.

Here is the male clown, I couldnt get any decent pics of the other fish...lol

Here is the brain.

Here is one of the hammers...might as well.

And that is it so far, the tank keeps a temp of 80 during the day. It is winter here and I anticipate the need for a chiller when the summer comes.

Enjoy...

What should be next, Korallin Ca Reactor + pH controller or a new skimmer?

I would say the Korallin Ca Reactor + pH controller. The skimmer you have now should serve the purpose until the time being

Looks good. The only thing I might mention is that the fan will be more effective if you point it at the water rather than at the light...

I understand that...evap = cool. But my return section is rather small and I dont have an ATO system yet. But it keeps the tank rather cool actually. 80-82F

I plan on getting a chiller sometime after march when it starts to warm up.

I started the Prodibio yesterday. So far the only visual difference I see (not that any was expected) is that my brain has opened up significantly more.

Thank you

The royal gramma is getting more comfortable with the tank and is coming out more. I will try to get a good pic soon. The angel was pretty shy at first and now it cruises around the entire tank grazing and eating off the seaweed clips. All is well, so far.
