I installed the Oceanic BioCube skimmer, and that little bugger is nice. I wasn't sure about it since it was an air stone skimmer but that little thing skimms very well. I think it is $60 or $70

here's a shot of the bubbles in the body, the second shot is of about 12 hrs of skimming, the third is after about 30 hrs.

notice the air valve i have on there that is almost in the closed position (2:00-2:30) to make the body totally fill with bubbles.
the pump and venturi are stock with the impellar mesh modded.

here's a couple pics of what it looks like on the tank, sorry no white balance...lol

Both EuroReef and Octopus are going to have in-tank nano skimmers that are supposed to rock. Check the ER sponsor forum for their discussion. When the Octo gets here to the US, I'll be getting one of those for my 10g

I also am looking for a nano skimmer for a 20 gallon. I have only read bad things about the Rio Nano, so proceed with caution - I read that it really doesn't skim well at all. Does anyone know the release date for the EuroReff Nano? I have an ER skimmer on my large tank and really like it .

seems like the ER Nano's are in beta testing right now. I haven't seen any updates to say anything else over in the EuroReef sponsor forum

I would say for the money you could get an oceanic biocube skimmer for $35.99, or a prizm skimmer for about $100.00. many people dont like them but I have had no problems with mine in the past 2 years I have had it. I did have to clean some calcium deposit from the air tubing about a year after I got it, and it is rated for up to 100 gallons..

I heard it was going to be soon you might want to go contact david at coralvue.com, dzeadow asked david before but i dont know if he mentioned when.

Nano skimmer will revolutionise the Nano aquarium for all reefers.

This new skimmer is designed for Nano tanks up to 80L, and can be installed by hanging it inside the tank.

The Octopus Nano Skimmer uses the SP-500 5W pump and has a ø50 chamber.

If your using it as a hob doesn't it seem kind of bulky but I guess if its in the back you cant see it. Its got mixed reviews.

i'd suggest a deltec mce300 or 600, if that's out of your budget the octo 100 with internal pump looks like a good design.

No, the octo nano (when it gets to the states) is actually a mini needlewheel pump. I think it's being sold under pacific coast import's model right now, if you go to customaquatics.com and there standard skimmers under 60g, it's listed as the Pacific Coast Nano Skimmer for $35. I'm under the impression that PCI is another importer of octopus as is CoralVue and SWC (Salt Water Concepts).

you'll be happy with that octo 100. After it breaks in it'll pull some nasty stuff. There's obviously a few hints for that skimmer over in the Octopus HOB thread in the lighting/filtration forum. One was to put a cap or cup w/ a wet bottom on the outlet to silence the return.
