Question Aillian plant

I have been seeing a allian plant in my reef tank it only comes out at night when the moon light is on . It looks like a upside down feather duster, it is green and red and maybe some yellow in it,

It comes out slowly and if you shine a light at it or turn on a light it closes in a fraction of a second. it comes up from a near a purple mushroon but i cant find where it comes up from ,

by the way the purple mushroon has been turning white and i cant find the cause of the color change , mabye this strange plant has somthing to do with it.

does anyone have any idea what this could be,

my wife thinks i crazy, or drunk because shy has never been able to see it.
i have tried to get a picture but it closes to fast, but ill keep trying

Its a feather duster worm. Not sure why it would only come out at night; maybe there is a crab or fish bothering it during the day, so it has adapted. They are harmless filter feeders at any rate.
