Krylon Fusion warning
I had originally painted the inside of my glass DIY overflow w/ black Krylon Fusion to match the back of my tank.
Since I've changed my return pump and have LOTS more water traveling through the overflow, the paint is beginning to chip/flake off and enter the water column. There hasn't been any harmful side effects to fish or corals, but I'm sick of picking black paint flakes out of the sump. It's also reducing the effectiveness of my skimmer. I think that one of my weekend projects will be to scrape the remaining paint off the inside of the overflow...

That stinks I hope you can get it off easily. Krylon Fusion paint bonds to plastics not glass. People generally paint any pvc or acrylic parts inside thier tanks with it. I have various plastics painted with it for over a year with no problems.

I'm experiencing this first-hand- My returns that were painted with the same paint are holding up nicely. The back of the tank (outside) is holding up as well, but doesn't experience any wear or water flow.

Wouldn't you want to paint the outside rather inside where water flows?

Water touches both sides of an internal overflow which I believe is what he has.
