If you can give us a pic, we may be able to come up with a close substitute.

Glad to hear you can clean them though. years ago, you couldnt get to the electrode for cleaning.

What diameter is the glass? Maybe a test tube or small lab jar?

Here you have some pic's

The tube diameter is about 1/2". Other thing is to know if another material would make the same job as glass, maybe pvc or acrylic.

Thanks for your interest

I could be wrong, but i thought they were made of quartz. I know the sleeves for uv sterilizers are. Maybe I am confusing the two.

Hey maybe you are right. If this material is quartz I am in a big trouble.

I could definitely be wrong, I have no experience with ozone. Someone with experience will have to chime in.

Theres no need for it to be quartz- that is only to pass UV light , as regular glass absorbs UVC frequencies.

Glass is a better insulator than PVC, but pvc would still work. The glass is only there to prevent arcing between the electrodes of the corona discharge generator.

What was inside and outside the tube? A roll of wire mesh, or a little lamp?

Hi Guys:

If I could replace it with pvc would be great.

Inside the tube there is a kind of serpentine made of stainless steel (one side of electrode). And outside has an aluminium film (the other side of electrode)

You can use pvc as long as the temperature does not get high enough to soften it.

You could run it with the case open for awhile to check its temperature. Not being able to see the electrical connection, you must be very careful running it with the case opened up. They run 5KV +. The AL is the ground electrode and the SS is the high voltage lead.

Carlos, I should also have told you that the pvc will become brittle over time, and may need to be replaced at some point. The glass obviously would not be affected by the ozone.

You know, what about a nice glass cigar tube? That'd be perfect.

Just like a glass test tube for a laboratory. You'd have to cut the end off, or use a glass straw to push the air into one end of the tube and let it flow out the other.
