Propeller attachment

I was at my LFS and I noticed a piece of equipment that they had in their show tank (170 gallon reef.) It was a powerhead that looked like it had a propeller attachment on it. It looks like a letter T with two nozzles at the end of it. It seemed to me that it was a great idea because of the spectrum of flow that it produces. I was not able to identify the powerhead manufacturer, but am not sure this isn't a modification you could make to any powerhead. I was wondering if anyone knew what that was and if they used them themselves. I have looked through the pics section, but have not come across one for identification.

I am in the process of looking to increase the waterflow in my tank and was either looking in some Zoomed pumps because of the oscillating they provide, or something like was I saw at the LFS.

I know the one you are talking about, they look a little bulky and still direct the flow a little, Here is one that does a better job, looks better and cost around the same. I have one of these and it does a pretty good job. I have heard good and bad from them like all things, but as of to date I have had no problems with mine

I have read about those, but that is not a powerhead right? I don't have type of plumbing as everything I have is either in mny tank of HOB.

I have found it. Here is what I was talking about. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. I have heard some bad reviews about Rio pumps, but that type of motion would be great for me tank. I currently have two Zoomeds, but from what I have heard, I should have a backup plan

ive had problems with the zoomeds, too. they work great for a while. if you want a powerhead with propellers, go to mjmods.com they tell you how to mod a maxijet powerhead to a tunze style. i just got the parts for my 900 and 1200, and can't wait to put them together. i dont know exactly how much the water movement will increase, but i think it will be around 3x. i dont know about the one your looking at, but all in all, the maxijet and mods was pretty cheap, as you can buy all the things for the mod at lfs and home depot
